Who Dat Wednesday: Katera x Good Day

Here’s an artist I’ve been ready to write about since I started BINACT back in May (wow 7 months has sure flown by). I have the pleasure of knowing Katera as a friend and very talented songstress, songwriter, and performer. The first time I heard her perform live was earlier this year when she did a birthday celebration show. I was moved to tears by her cover of my favorite Michael Jackson song, Dirty Diana. Since then I’ve been one of her biggest fans.

2 weeks ago she dropped her newest song titled Good Day. When I tell you my sister is flawless…believe me. This isn’t just a heavy bias. God blessed Katera with an effortlessly powerful set of pipes. Good Day reminds me of the smell of brunch on the weekend or that feeling after you get off work and you take your pants off for the night. The song has a warm and soothing aura that engulfs you like the best hug. I added it to my morning playlist and I listen to it at least once a day. Did I mention she plays the guitar as well? All the strings heard are strummed by Katera herself. She even gets on Instagram and posts videos of her singing any and everything from gospel to R&B (IG: @kateraonthemic). Katera is EVERYTHING and if you haven’t had the chance to see her in action you are definitely missing out.

If you’re in the Columbia, SC tonight she’s going to be signing copies of Good Day and performing!! I’m going to be there of course (see picture for time and location). Come out and support if you can make it!
